However, if you want, you can always change the Internet Explorer compatibility setting to Always. After version 90.0, Microsoft Edge no longer allows the ability to enable or use IE Mode. The same environment will be created for websites that use only Internet Explorer. The IE Mode feature of the Edge browser enables older websites to run in the same environment as the newer ones. This includes websites that use ActiveX controls or Microsoft Silverlight. Any website that requires Internet Explorer will now load in the IE Tab. You can now browse the web using the selected version of Internet Explorer. Once you’ve made your selection, the IE Tab will load in a new tab within Microsoft Edge. You can choose from IE 7, IE 8, IE 9, or IE 10. When the IE Tab extension is launched, you’ll be prompted to select which version of Internet Explorer you’d like to use. Once the extension is installed, you can launch it by clicking the IE Tab icon in the Edge toolbar. You’ll first need to download the IE Tab extension from the Microsoft Store. Adding an IE Tab to Microsoft Edge is a simple process. Edge includes integration with Cortana and has extensions hosted on the Microsoft Store.
